On Thursday Group of Eight leaders, which includes President Bush, agreed to call for reductions on global emissions, citing a goal of 50 percent cut by 2050. This is a plan to.. you guessed it.. fight global warming!

There's a WHOLE lot more to the story, but I'm not going to type it all out here for you. Instead, I'm giving credit where credit is due. Click here to read the rest of this interesting news article.

So many people think global warming is not a fact, but it is! I've talked with some people I know in real life about global warming, and they say, "Well I don't believe in global warming, because my dad doesn't." Or things of that sort... You know, you really need your own opinion and views on global warming. Don't always listen to your parents, your friends, politicians, the media. Even important people and people you love can be wrong.

If you're going to have an opinion, you need to base it on facts. Do some research on global warming. Go over detailed reports, graphs, charts, etc. For example, did you know that the past few decades have been recorded the warmest?

Some believe global warming is not the fault of people, but it is actually a natural cycle of the earth. But do you realize how people treat things? We use up all of our natural resources and we're very wasteful. We don't dispose of our trash properly. We chug along in our big gas guzzling trucks. To be honest, humans just aren't as clean as they were a hundred years ago. I think we need to go back to our old habits to help preserve the earth and all of our resources. Global warming or not, we could do a better job.

Not only do you find opinions on this site, but you find A LOT of facts from which you can base your own opinion. So if you don't believe global warming is true, start rethinking!

Beluga whales are some of my favorite animals. Not only are they cute and unique, but they are smiling and friendly too! They are smart and happy creatures, and they'd make you a quick friend. But there's one problem. You might never get to see one of these marvelous whales, because they're dying out rapidly.

I received an email alerting me of the terrbile news. The white beluga whales of Alaska's Cook Inlet will soon be extinct, unless we act fast. Today, there are approximately 300 of these beauties left in the increasingly industrialized waters. That's a 77% decline from the 1980's, when 1,300 white beluga whales called the inlet home.

These gorgeous whales never did a thing wrong and they deserve a chance to live. You can fight to give them a chance without paying a single cent, right from the comfort of your home! After many years, the National Marine Fisheries Service is finally offering that the Cook inlet Belugas will be protected as an endangered species. But the proposal will not become reality without the voicing of many individuals. That's how you can help. Say yes to protect the belugas!

We all only have until June 19 to comment and be pro-beluga, and make a difference. NRDC wants to gear up AT LEAST 100,000 petitions to save the stunning whales, and there's not much time left! The more people who let their voice be heard, the better. Please click here to stand up and help these poor animals! It only takes a couple minutes of your time and it's a great help.

The situation is desperate. The World Conservation Union added the beluga whales to its "Red List" of critcally endangered species. Next it will be "extinct in the wild", if enough people don't step up to protect these marine creatures. Many important people are opposed to protecting the whales, which really makes no sense at all. They're beautiful animals and it would be a great loss if they died out.

So please, make your voice heard on behalf of the struggling population! The whales cannot live anywhere else, and there's no time to lose in saving them. Click the following link, take a few minutes of your time, and make a huge difference!:

Beluga Whale Being Friendly

UPDATE: NRDC has collected 100,000 voices for their online petition, but for the cause to be a success, this goal still needs to be surpassed. If you haven't done so yet, click here.

Air Car Runs on Compressed Air
The air car is ready for mass production, according to an article on Yahoo written by Bob Ewing. The car is supposed to run on air, yes, it's true! But unless you live in India or Asia, you might never get to see it. The air car would supposedly never survive North America's crash tests.

What's the catch? The air car uses compressed air to push its engine pistons. Refueling is easy, if you're near a gas station that has a compressed air machine, that is. However, it will only cost about two dollars to refill. If you don't live near a compressed air machine, you can do it yourself, but that will take about four hours.

Cons?? To me it sounds like a pretty neat little car, but, like I said, you'll need to be a compressed air machine. Also, while the car puts off only air, fossil fuels will be used to create the electricity for refueling with compressed air (of course, it's still better than our fuel-chugging cars). And this little air car might never be seen in the United States, where I am, because it is light weight and has glued-together fiberglass construction. That's not all. It goes no faster than 68 miles per hour, and its driving range is 125 miles before it gives out.

What do I think? While it's not the ideal car for most people, I'd love to have one! Not only will it be cleaner and save a lot more energy (hurray for doing out with global warming!), but it also sounds like a real money saver.
